Hoiberg likes the work ethic of his players

October 11, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Iowa State basketball coach Fred Hoiberg hopes to build off the momentum created a year ago when the Cyclones finished, 23-11, tied for third in the Big 12 race and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

“This is a group that is going to be very easy to root for because of the type of kids that they are. They have great work ethics, it’s been as good a group that I’ve ever been around,” Hoiberg says.

Hoiberg needs to replace the top three scorers from last year’s tea, Royce White, Scott Christopherson and Chris Allen. He says they have a great group to replace the guys they lost and that older group has provided great leadership.

The Cyclones open the season on November ninth against Southern University.
