Casey Frederiksen returns to Iowa to face murder charge

October 16, 2012 By O. Kay Henderson

Casey Frederiksen

A northern Iowa man who’s been in a federal prison in Illinois is now in the custody of officials from the State of Iowa, as the chief suspect in seven-year-old murder case.

Thirty-three-year-old Casey Frederiksen is scheduled to make an appearance today, at the Floyd County Courthouse, at 10 o’clock.

Frederiksen is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree sexual abuse in the death of Evelyn Miller.

The five-year-old girl disappeared from her mother’s apartment in Floyd, Iowa, on July 1st, 2005. Her body was found five days later along the Cedar River in Charles City.

Frederiksen was the live-in boyfriend of Evelyn’s mother. He had been serving prison time on child pornography and drug charges. In a dramatic announcement last month, authorities revealed some the inmates Frederiksen has spent time with in prison are willing to testify he’s told them details about the assault and the murder that were never released to the public.
