Corydon man dies in accident near Chariton

November 9, 2012 By Matt Kelley

A Corydon man was killed in a traffic crash in south-central Iowa Wednesday. The crash happened just before 1 p.m. on Highway 14 near Chariton. A report from the Iowa State Patrol indicates 83-year-old Robert E. Brown was on a 1979 Honda motorcycle, headed south on the northbound shoulder of the road.

He attempted to cross the Highway when he was struck by a northbound pickup. Brown was transported to the Lucas County Hospital, where he died. The driver of the pickup, 65-year-old Earnest Roush of Chariton, was not injured.
