A northeast Iowa man will appear in court next week to face vehicular homicide charges for a September motorcycle accident that killed a woman.
An arraignment has been set for 9 a.m. Tuesday for 45-year-old Jay Jermier of Decorah. On September 28, Jermier and a passenger, 44-year-old Trish Taylor of Calmer were riding on Jermier’s motorcycle, which went out of control north of Calmar. Taylor was killed in that crash.
An arrest warrant for Jermier revealed he had a blood alcohol reading above the legal limit. Jermier has been free on bond. A trial has been scheduled for January 9.
