Waterloo Wonderbread plant may close

November 16, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Products made by Hostess.

It appears nearly 60 employees at the Waterloo Wonder Bread plant could soon be out of work. Hostess has announced it will file a motion with a U.S. Bankruptcy court today, requesting to have its assetts liquidated.

This follows a strike by more than 5,000 union workers at three other Hostess plants around the country.

Hostess filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January of this year. The 59 employees at the Waterloo facility had still been on the job as recently as yesterday.
