ISU women travel to Iowa

December 6, 2012 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa and Iowa State women meet for the 43rd time, tonight, in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Cyclones enter with a mark of 5-0 and are 22nd ranked nationally.

ISU coach Bill Fennelly says it is the biggest week of the year for them in a lot of ways, as it is the last week of class and they have two tough road games, including Iowa. The home team has dominated this series by winning ten of the last 11 matchups.

Iowa enters the game with a mark of 6-3.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says all four schools want to have the mythical state championship as she says it is important for pride, but she is not sure how much it impacts recruiting. The Hawkeyes won their first instate matchup with UNI last weekend. Iowa State already owns a victory over Drake.

Iowa leads the all time series 22-20.
