Pottawattamie County fire believed to be arson

January 28, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Investigators believe a fire at a tire repair facility in southwest Iowa was intentionally set. Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker says fire crews were to Paco’s Tires near Underwood last night just before midnight.

“We believe it is probably arson,” Danker said. The fire was contained to an area outside the metal building and no one was injured, but there’s plenty of damage.

The owners of the building estimate damage to the structure at $30,000, while the loss of tools and equipment is estimated at $3,000. No one has been arrested in the case.
