One dead in accident involving three pickups in Madison County

February 7, 2013 By Matt Kelley

A fender-bender turned fatal last night in southwest Iowa. The Highway Patrol says a pickup stopped along a Madison County road shortly after 10 P.M. and was rear-ended by a second pickup.

When the first driver got out, a third pickup sideswiped both trucks and hit and killed the man. He’s identified as 56-year-old Donald Ellis of Prole.

Troopers filed a drunk driving charge against the other driver in the first crash, 49-year-old Julie Brommel, with no residence listed. The driver of the third pickup also faces charges.
