Iowa State faces Baylor

February 20, 2013 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa State Cyclones are on the road to take on Baylor in a matchup of two of the three teams tied at 7-5. The Cyclones beat the Bears 78-71 in their first meeting in Ames back on February 2nd.

ISU coach Fred Hoiberg says Baylor senior guard Pierre Jackson is a concern. “The first thing you have to do if you are gonna compete with Baylor is to slow down Pierre, and that’s easier said than done,” according to Hoiberg.

Hoiberg says the Cyclones also need to focus on the glass as Baylor has length in its front line and the crash the boards and can make it tough. Hoiberg says Baylor 7-1 freshman center Isaiah Austin is a matchup concern, and his previous 20-rebound game shows how he can hurt a team.

The Cyclones are 17-8 overall.
