Fire destroys restaurant, shuts down much of downtown Ottumwa

April 9, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Much of downtown Ottumwa is without power this morning because of an overnight fire. The fire was reported shortly before midnight at the El Rancho Grande restaurant.

A cause for the fire has not been determined. There have been no reports of injuries. Gas service and electricity has been cut off to much of the downtown area and a main bridge located near the restaurant has been closed.
