Luther opens softball regional in Wisconsin

May 8, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

The Luther College softball team opens an NCAA division three regional in Whitewater, Wisconsin on Thursday with a first round matchup against Carthage of Wisconsin. Coach Renae Hartl’s team is 28-9 on the season after winning the Iowa Conference Tournament last weekend.

Hartl says the team feels like it is peaking at the right time. She says with any regional you can expect a bunch of close games and that will be the case here because there are 8 great teams.

St. Thomas of Minnesota is the top seed in the region.
