A northeast Iowa man has pled guilty to being involved in a drug trafficking operation. Twenty-three-year-old Adam Lawin of Waterloo pled guilty in federal court in Cedar Rapids to conspiracy to distribute a drug known as “ecstasy” or “Molly”.

Lawin admitted he got the drug from a highly encrypted drug trafficking website and had packages delivered to friends or acquaintances to try and avoid drawing attention to himself. Police had intercepted some of the drug intended for Lawin and found over two pounds of the drug during a search of his home.

A sentencing date has not been set. The maximum sentence for the charge is 20 years and a one million dollar fine.
