Whittemore man dies in motorcycle accident

April 14, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A northern Iowa man was killed in a weekend traffic accident. A 41-year-old Whittemore motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon in an accident on Highway 9 on the west edge of Swea City in Kossuth County.

The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as David Rochleau. Reportedly, a westbound 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Rochleau crossed the center line of the roadway and struck an eastbound  2001 Ford Taurus driven by Beverly Eggerth of Swea City.

Rochleau was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Eggerth was treated and released at the hospital in Fairmont, Minnesota. The accident remains under investigation.
