Search on for suspect in fatal Cedar Falls shooting

June 2, 2014 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Cedar Falls Police are trying to find a suspect who is wanted in connection with the shooting death of a Waterloo man early Sunday. At around 1:30 yesterday morning, officers were called to the 1800 block of Tremont Street on a report of gunshots. When they arrived, police found 21-year-old Norman Gant of Waterloo lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Gant was transported to Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls where he died. Police say the shooter remains at large, but they stress that there is no immediate danger to the general public. There was reportedly a house party going on down the block from where the shooting happened, and police indicate that some of the people at the party knew the victim.
