Iowa women down ISU

December 12, 2014 By Todd Kimm

Stiger hawkophomore Ally Disterhoft had 16 points and freshman Whitney Jennings added 15 as the Iowa Hawkeye women beat Iowa State 76-67 in Iowa City. “We were so focused in this game, we lost our composure for a little bit, but then we got a time out and we got it right back again,”s Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says. The Hawkeyes rebounded better after halftime as she says they talked about making a better effort on the glass.

Jadda Buckley led Iowa State with 25 points. The Cyclones got to within four in the final minute before the Hawkeyes put the game away.

“I thought our kids competed, I really did, we hung around,” Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly said. He says they had trouble in the post and Iowa hit some big 3’s.

Iowa is 8-2 while the Cyclones are 6-2.
