August 24, 2015 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Police car lightsPlymouth County authorities have released the name of a rural Sioux City man killed in an ATV accident Friday between Hinton and Sioux City. The man, identified as 24-year-old Carlton Smith Junior, had struck a tree.

Investigators determined he was traveling through a grassy area on private property, when he struck the tree. Smith was thrown from the ATV and discovered by a family member. He was taken to Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars where the Plymouth County Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was a result of head injuries.
