The UNI Panthers are a confident football team heading into their off week. The Panthers are coming off a 34-20 victory at Cal-Poly, their second straight win over a ranked foe, and at 2-1 have climbed to number six on the latest FCS Coaches Poll.

UNI coach Mark Farley says the Panthers have taken big strides since a season opening loss at Iowa State.

“Where we are at as a football team right now after coming off that first week is really a credit to the whole program, everybody involved in this”, said Farley. “They did a one-eighty and put us in a great position going into an open date.”

The Panthers open the Missouri Valley Football Conference race at fifth ranked Illinois State on October third.
