After 35 years as the head football coach at North Mahaska High School Steve Ehret is stepping down. Ehret has also served as athletic director the past seven years and led the Warhawks to a state championship in 2005 and three state runner-up finishes.

North Mahaska was 2-7 this past season and Ehret feels it is time for someone to jump start the program.

“If someone can come in with some new ideas and jump start it a little bit that’s what I want.”, said Ehret. “After 35 years it is time to give my wife some time on the weekend so it is the right time”

Ehret finishes his career with a record of 206-137.
