A Sioux City man is accused of using phony money. Police say 38-year-old Fernando Gabriel Morales allegedly used counterfeit bills to make purchases at several local places since last August. Morales is charged with 8 counts of forgery, ongoing criminal conduct, and third-degree theft.

Morales is being held in the Woodbury County Jail on a $25,000 cash bond. Morales’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 29.
