Doran takes over at South Tama

April 4, 2016 By Radio Iowa Contributor

south tamaNate Doran has been named the new head football coach at South Tama High School. Doran replaces Jay Hoskey, who retired after six seasons as head coach.

The Trojans finished 11-1 this past season and made it to the quarterfinal round of the class 2A playoffs.

“It feels real good and this is something I have wanted to do for a long time”, said Doran. “I am really excited and looking forward to where we go from here.”

Doran was the defensive coordinator under Hoskey and during that time the Trojans were 36-26, including three trips to the playoffs. He spent the past 11 years as an assistant and is ready for the challenge of leading his own program.

“I actually even got into teaching after falling in love with coaching. It is something I am really proud of and hope to make my community proud.”
