Police charge Urbandale man with making a false report after accidental shooting

Police car lightsUrbandale police have charged a man who they say lied about a drive-by shooting.

Police where called to a home shortly after noon on Monday on the report of a drive-by shooting and found 19-year-old Zachary Dunblazier outside with a minor gunshot wound to his leg. Dunblazier was taken to the hospital for treatment of a minor injury, and after questioning by police detectives, they found his version of what happened didn’t match the evidence.

Detectives determined Dunblazier accidentally shot himself in the leg. He is charge with making a false police report.
