Cedar Rapids police release name of teen victim in deadly shooting

Crime-scene-300x243Police in Cedar Rapids have released more information after the shooting death of a 13-year-old girl.

The shooting happened Tuesday morning on Cedar Rapids’ southeast side. Police said they quickly took three young men into custody. On Wednesday, the victim was identified as 13 year old Ireshia Parks.

Police also revealed the person suspected of firing the gun is a 13-year-old boy. He’s facing charges that include involuntary manslaughter. The other two suspects, charged with interference with official acts, are 15 and 18.
