State Fire Marshal investigating, after child dies in Perry fire

December 8, 2016 By Matt Kelley

Fire-truck-300x279A child died in a fire this morning northwest of Perry.

Fire crews were sent to a rural home at 8:23 a.m., found the home fully engulfed in flames and learned a child was trapped upstairs. They were unable to rescue the child, who’s name and age have not been released.

The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire, but foul play is not suspected. Several fire departments responded to the scene, including Jefferson, Perry, Rippey and Grand Junction.
