A missing central Iowa girl has been found — two states away.

Des Moines police say the girl, who was subject of an Amber Alert late on Wednesday, was found several hours later in Hammond, Indiana with her non-custodial mother.

Police identified the girl as 14-year-old Nina Williams, who has autism and other special needs, and police say there was evidence she was at-risk while with the woman, 36-year-old Jessica Williams, also of Des Moines.

Both are now said to be safe. Police aren’t commenting on what, if any, charges will be filed against the elder Williams.
