Two people were killed in a high-speed crash in Davenport over the weekend.
Police say officers spotted the Chevy speeding and driving recklessly about 2 A.M. Sunday in Davenport’s downtown.
Officers tried to pull the car over, but it sped away and they didn’t pursue. Minutes later, police say the Impala left the road and hit a building.
A female passenger was dead at the scene, while the man who was driving was taken to the hospital where he later died.
No names were released. No one was in the building at the time of the crash.
