State officials say a man from a small town in central Illinois was fatally shot this weekend while hunting in Guthrie County. According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, 26-year-old Seth Egelhoff Chesterfield, Illinois was shot in the face while he was hunting for waterfowl.

It happened in Bays Branch Wildlife Area, two miles north of Panoa. A 9-1-1 call was placed at about 1 p.m. Saturday. The D-N-R says Engelhoff died as Panora E-M-S were evacuating him from the scene.

In early October, a 53-year-old man who was coyote hunting with friends on private land near Alden was killed when he was struck by a single rifle shot.
