State troopers say a one-car accident on Highway 17 near Eagle Grove early Sunday killed a Webster City man.
The victim is identified as 36-year-old Jose Casiano. The report by the Iowa State Patrol reported that a 2012 Mercedes Benz GL 450 driven by Casiano was driving erratically on Highway 17 in Eagle Grove. A Wright County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the Casiano vehicle traveling at speeds up to 130 miles per hour being reported.
The Casiano vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and crashed into a ditch. The report further stated that the driver was not wearing a seat belt. He was ejected and died at the accident scene.
