Turn-out is steady but light in today’s vote on two proposed constitutionalamendments according to Radio Iowa’s survey of county auditors. ScottCounty Auditor Karen Fitzsimmons is keeping tabs on Davenport-area voters.She says it’s been steady but not busy. Fitzsimmons estimates a turnout of 10to 12 percent.Woodbury County Auditor Pat Gill has been checking on turn-out in the SiouxCity area, and estimates about 15 percent of Woodbury County voters willcast ballots. Gill calls it a disappointing turnout.Linn County Auditor Linda Langenberg estimates about one-fifth of CedarRapids-area voters participated in today’s election. And not all therequested absentee ballots were sent in.Des Moines County Deputy Auditor Carol Copeland is monitoring turn-out in theBurlington area. She says in one precinct the turnout was 14-percent, whichshe says is high for its rural nature.Copeland says about 12-hundred Des Moines county voters requested absenteeballots — which she says is quite high for this type of election.
