It’s a potentially-dangerous combination — dry conditions and a very windyday. Three counties are now under a “burn ban” by order of the State FireMarshall’s Office — Buena Vista and Osceola counties innorthwestern Iowa and Jasper County in central Iowa:Assistant Iowa Fire Marshall George Howe says people in all of the other 96counties need to use extreme caution if they plan to do any burning. He saysvirtually all of Iowa is lacking in rainfall, making for dangerously dryconditions.Howe says it’s already illegal to do open burning in many areas of thestate. He says if you are burning, your fire should be well supervised andhave a source of water on hand.The state’s northeastern region is under a wind advisory today.
