U-S West telephone customers will soon see separate bills for services other than basic phone calls. U-S West Spokesperson Lynn Gipple says there have been to many problems with “cramming” or unauthorized charges on the bills so they’ve decided to stop billing customers for services provided by other companies.They’ve received three-thousand calls a month about unauthorized charges made by other companies. She says there are a variety of additional services that were included in the phone bills.Gipple says U-S West tried to eliminate some of the problems by targeting “bad” vendors, but that didn’t cut the problem.Gipple says the additional billing service was provided as a convenience to customers. She says they will continue to provide billing for long-distance companies in the U-S West bills.
