Vice President Al Gore courted Iowa’s women voters during an appearance last night in Des Moines. The democratic presidential candidate ran through a litany of issues for the crowd of women: Gore called for an expansion of the Family and Medical Leave Act — and Gore promised to appoint Supreme Court justices who will uphold the decision which legalized abortion. Gore also called for a one-dollar-an-hour increase in the minimum wage.Gore’s appearance at the event was delayed by an hour, as he trouble getting out of Davenport.Gore’s plane was delayed for de-icing — and then the stairs to the plane broke.
