Democratic presidential candidate Bill Bradley made a mid-day appearance at Johnston High School. Bradley in a darkened auditorium to a crowd made up of students and supporters from the area. He drew applause during his standard stump speech for his health care, gun control, campaign spending reform and child poverty initiatives. Bradley said his “big” ideas were dismissed as “too hard to do” by rival Al Gore.Bradley answered questions about abortion, campaign spending restrictions, and environmental policy. Bradley supports an international treaty which seeks to reduce greenhouse gases, but he would insist that third world countries be included in its restrictions.
