A project at the University of Iowa College of Business is enabling e-traders anywhere in the world to buy and sell shares in prospects of presidential candidates. If traders on the e-market were real voters, those who run the Iowa Electronic Markets say the republicans would have the White House as republicans have 51-percent of the popular vote, and Democrats 43 percent.U-of-I accounting professor Joyce Berg says there isn’t a break-down within that market to determine which candidate would be the winner, only which party. Berg says anyone with a computer and Internet access can buy and sell shares on the electronic market for as little as five dollars and as much as 500 dollars. For more information, surf to: www.biz.uiowa.edu/iem
