Iowa State coach Dan McCarney says he is thrilled with his 25-man recruiting class. The Cyclones signed 17 high school players and eight junior college transfers and McCarney says they did so by selling the school and its people.McCarney says early commitments from some big-name players helped as the recruiting season progressed.Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz and his staff signed several players from Florida as they try to restock the talent pool.Ferentz says one area of disappointment was their lack of success with in-state players. He says they offered scholarships to seven players and only signed two. Northern Iowa football coach Mike Dunbar signed 17-players. The list includes Sioux City East All-State receiver Justin Sandy.11 of the 17 signees are from Iowa.Dunbar says they were looking for skill people with speed. .
