Kerry Wood had a strong outing but is wasn’t enough for the Iowa Cubs who set a franchise record with their 12th consecutive loss 5-4 to Colorado Springs on Sunday. Wood yielded just four hits and two runs and struck out seven in seven innings of work, but the Sky Sox scored three runs of reliever Steve Rain in one inning of work to get the win. Scott McClain lead the way for Colorado Srings with a pair of homers and four RBIs. Wood had to leave the game with a blister on his finger. The cubs are now 3-15 and will play the Sky Sox again this afternoon in Sec Taylor Stadium.
