Iowans will be able to conduct their business with state government electronically by July 1, 2003 as a result of legislation signed today by Governor Tom Vilsack. The law sets that deadline for establishing a state government electronic funds transfer system. Vilsack says it’s important to send the message that the state is in the 21st Century.Vilsack says businesses and individuals are interested in doing business with the state over their computer rather than in-person. He says it will be easier to get hunting licenses and other services on-line.
