The Iowa Lottery plans to roll out a new game next month called “Rolldown.” Lottery spokeswoman Mary Neubauer says the new lottery game gets its name from the way money is rewarded. If no one wins the jackpot, the money in the prize pool rolls down and makes all the other prizes bigger. To play the game, you choose five numbers between one and 55.She says Rolldown doesn’t give you a better chance to win — it gives you a chance to win more. For example, if you match one number in a drawing where someone wins the jackpot, you take home a dollar. If you match one number and no one wins the jackpot, you take home four dollars. Neubauer says the game is a way to keep people interested in the lottery. The standard prize for matching four numbers in the game is 500 dollars, and 10 dollars for matching three numbers. The Rolldown game will go on sale September 8th and replaces the “Cash for Life” game. The first drawing for the Rolldown game is September 9th.
