Former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad is flying to Illinois and Florida today to tout the economic benefits of air travel. Branstad heads a new group known as GAIN — the Global Aviation Improvement Network. It’s a coalition of airlines and business groups seeking to expand air travel. Branstad says the GAIN study shows areas which do not have cheap and easy access to air travel suffer economically.Branstad says the study highlights the economic engine an airport can be.
