A new “Buckle Up Baby” campaign’s underway to encourage parents to secure their kids inside the car. The Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau is releasing a new series of public service announcements urging people to make sure kids are safe.Traffic Safety Bureau spokeswoman Jan Goldsmith says it’s not enough to have a child safety seat, it must be installed correctly.Goldsmith says her organization’s safety seat checks indicate 90 percent of the seats are misused in some fashion.Goldsmith says most kids aren’t big enough to use a regular seat belt until they’re eight years old. The penalty for not buckling your baby or child in a safety seat goes from 10 dollars to 25 dollars on July 1st.
