Albert the Bull is a western Iowa landmark which is due for a bit of sprucing up. The aging, anatomically correct concrete bull is 30-feet tall and weighs 45 tons. Audubon tourism coordinator Lyn Cody says the big bull needs a new coat of paint and other improvements — so an unusual gift is going on sale as a fundraiser. It’s a canvas bag containing two golf balls, each imprinted with Albert’s image. Cody is hoping people snap up the souvenirs.A barbecue to raise money will be held Saturday at Albert’s Park in Audubon from five to seven p-m. The monument was built 40 years ago to honor Audubon County beef producers.
