A southeastern Iowa man apparently drown while trying to beat the heat. The body of a missing Ottumwa man was found Saturday night after a two-day search of the Des Moines River. 42-year-old Roger Simmers had jumped into the waterway Thursday to get relief from the heat and was carried away by swift current. Authorities warn others -not- to swim in the river.
