An accident and chemical spill in Johnson County at the Interstate-80/380 interchange continues to block traffic in eastern Iowa. The truck rolled over about nine o-clock Sunday night. Troopers say truck driver Michael Stephenson of Hiawatha lost control of his rig and went into the ditch. Stephenson is in fair condition at a local hospital. He was hauling a chemical called toluene, which is like paint thinner. The southbound 380 ramp to westbound I-80 is closed, as is the I-80 westbound ramp to Highway 218 south. The ramps could remain closed most of the day. A trooper who rescued the truck driver was exposed the chemical, treated, then released from the hospital.
