Davenport’s outgoing mayor has a plan for funding improvements to the city’s baseball stadium.Mayor Phil Yerington says the city should use the three-point-one million dollars it intended to put toward a branch library in West Davenport, for fixing up John O’Donnell Stadium. The Quad-City River Bandits are leaving at the end of the 2002 season, and Yerington hopes some stadium improvements will help attract a new team. He says school media centers could be open to the public evenings to take the place of the branch library.
