More Iowa National Guard troops are headed for active duty. Guard officials say the 132nd Security Forces Squadron has deployed some of its members to an undisclosed location in the continental U-S. The Des Moines-based detachment had activated at least 75 of its soldiers recently. It’s unclear how many of the troops are now somewhere else. A Guard news release says they’ll be on active duty up to one year. In the meantime, an untold number of soldiers are being called up to take over security operations duties at the air base in Des Moines that were being performed by the troops who’ve left.
