Over two thousand Iowans could be due a refund from a Florida company that sells everything from diet pills to kitchen utensils. Iowa is one of 40 states to settle with the “Triad Discount Buying Service” for nine million dollars. Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller says the multi-state suit alleged the company made illegal trial offers to customers.Customers were charged fees if they didn’t cancel after the free trial period of an offer was over. Miller says they’ll be notified by mail and get that money back. He doesn’t know how much money the 22-hundred Iowans will get back.Miller says this is a common trick that you should be aware of, and advises that you always check your credit card bill for any unauthorized charges. He says you should always ask questions about potential fees for services you purchase.
