Most every Iowa farmer is putting away the combine for the year.State Ag Secretary Patty Judge says the 2001 Harvest is nearly history, with 99 percent of the corn and nearly 100 percent of the bean fields picked. She says warm dry weather recently has helped.Judge says yields have varied widely, as some parts of the state reported bumper crops while others had very poor yields.Judge says there was hail damage in parts of northwest Iowa and southern Iowa had a very wet start to the growing season. Central and eastern Iowa farmers had very good yields, according to Judge.
