Fighting the hills, the distance and the weather are some of the challenges of the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. Imagine doing it with two artificial legs.A former West Union woman says she’ll take part in RAGBRAI this year, despite a car accident last spring that resulted in her losing both of her lower legs. Lindsay Thomas was fitted with prosthetic legs last July and says she’s confident she can make the trip. She began riding the bike ride across Iowa when she was 12.
