Those who support Arts and Culture in Iowa are rallying this morning at the State Historical Building. Patricia Ohlerking of the Department of Cultural Affairs says it’s part of “Cultural Advocacy Day.” Ohlerking says people from across the state will attend.They’ll have a pep rally and hear from several speakers, including democrat Governor Tom Vilsack and the Iowa Republican Party’s chairman. Ohlerking explains what they mean by “Culture.”She says it encompasses art, history, the sciences and humanities. The rally will be followed by a march to the state capitol building.They’ll march to the capitol building at 10 o’clock and split into teams to talk to senators and representatives. Ohlerking expects at least one thousand people to attend. (Note: the rally starts at 8 am at the Historical Building.)
