A northeast Iowa mother and daughter won’t have to go to jail over a shoplifting scheme. 51-year-old Ida Heins and her daughter, 29-year-old Patricia Heins, both of Luana, were convicted of third degree theft. Decorah police say they seized 40-thousand dollars in cash they believe the women made after selling the stolen merchandise at flea markets. Police also recovered 10-thousand dollars worth of stolen merchandise from the Decorah WalMart. Both women were given a two-year suspended sentence, two years probation and fined 500 dollars.
