Rehabilitation is slow but progressing for Russell Teig, the 44-year-old state legislator from rural Jewell who had a stroke last month. His wife, Sandy, says it’s an uphill climb from the stroke which left him partly paralyzed.Teig has been in a Des Moines hospital since the stroke February 18th. Sandy Teig says the recovery will be gradual.Sandy Teig says her husband will be moved next week to a rehabilitation facility in Ankeny, just north of Des Moines.Teig has decided -not- to seek re-election, but he’s still keeping up with the current legislative session by listening to debates on his laptop computer via the Internet.
